not so strong after all

She’s not so strong after all.

She thought she was, she always seemed to be. Her smiles were real. Her laughter was genuine. Her eyes shined with passion and zest for life.

But she’s not so strong after all.

No such thing as wonder-woman or super-girl. She wanted to be invincible and indestructible. But no.

Trying to mask vulnerability can be tiring. And she knows it. She always did.

Because vulnerability is not a trait, it ain’t something you just hide and ignore. You choose to be vulnerable. And if you refuse to be vulnerable, you build a wall. And you create and image. And you act your role. The world is your stage.

But she’s not so strong after all.

A subconscious facade. Because she draws from everything that she is, everything that she’s left with. And the tragedy is that she doesn’t know where to recharge, where to refill, where to rejuvenate. Supply is depleting. Supply is running low. And we all know when supply decreases and demand increases, you end up with a shortage.

She’s not so strong after all.

Honey you thirst and you don’t draw water from the well.
You bankrupt yourself before you realise nothing’s coming in anymore.
You fall but don’t wait to heal before you sprint again.

Maybe you’re not so strong after all.

But awake, awake O daughter of Zion. Clothe yourself with strength.

He’s given you the key to set you free.

Shake yourself from the dust, arise;
Loose yourself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:26
